Weekends on Mercer Street
Fri March 27 - Tessy Lou and the Shotgun Stars
Tessy Lou Williams  has a passion for music and songwriting that began early in her life. Her parents, Kenny and Claudia Williams, formed the core of a western musical legend in Montana – the band Montana Rose. One of her earliest memories was falling asleep in a guitar case backstage, dreaming and singing along to the country folk tunes of the band. By the time Tessy Lou reached the sixth grade in Willow Creek, Montana (population 150), she had learned to play the cello, piano, guitar, saxophone and clarinet. Tessy Lou and the Shotgun Stars play great Country music that is packing dance floors throughout Texas and beyond…

Sat March 28 - Jason Roberts Band
Having spent his childhood among legends in Texas honky-tonks -- and then nearly 20 years with the world-famous band Asleep at the Wheel -- Jason has soaked up the very best of Western Swing and brings his own signature style to this traditional American genre. Two Grammy Awards and three individual Hall of Fame inductions later, Jason is stepping out to the delight of fans around the world.
Jason’s time with Asleep at the Wheel began after he’d earned rave reviews as a fiddle-playing wunderkind and Ray Benson came knocking. Jason was only 16 then and couldn’t even get in to many of the venues the Wheel played, so Benson waited until Jason’s 18th birthday to start their 20-year run. In the meantime, Jason played with Jody Nix, Don Walser, and many others through high school.

Sun March 29 - Clay McClinton
Clay McClinton’s musical roots are firmly planted in the traditions of his Texas birthplace, where strains of country, blues, rock ’n’ roll and Tex-Mex blend effortlessly into a sound he likes to call “Texas gumbo.” As a kid, McClinton had no idea he’d choose a music career but he knew enough to pay attention when his dad, Delbert, got together with his musical pals, who happened to include fellow Grammy winners Bonnie Raitt, Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson. The years McClinton spent on his dad’s tour bus also left their mark but even though the occasional vocal inflection or chord change might suggest his dad’s influence - McClinton’s musical identity is distinctly his own. Artist Spotlight on Michael Myers

Michael Myers is one of the most exciting country artists to come out of the Lone Star Sate in many years! Born and raised in Dripping Springs, Texas, Michael began singing with his grandpa in church and at special events. With encouragement and support from his family, friends and a growing multitude of fans, Michael worked hard to grow as an artist and explore new and exciting areas of country music. With an awesome voice and great material, his name has becom familiar all across Texas. Johnny Gimble, the great western swing fiddler said, "When Michael sings, it hits you right in the gut! The last time I was impressed this way with an upcoming talent was when I first heard Merle Haggard." (learn more)
